About Krka National Park
Krka National Park, Croatia’s seventh national park, is renowned for its stunning waterfalls and breathtaking natural scenery.
Named after the Krka River, which flows through the park, this natural wonder is located in central Dalmatia, just 90 km from Split.
The park spans the area along the Krka River, which originates at the base of Dinara, Croatia’s highest mountain, and winds through a 75 km-long canyon.
The park’s karst formations and crystal-clear waters are a must-see, especially during spring and summer when the waterfalls are at their most magnificent.
Don’t miss the chance to swim in the refreshing waters of the Krka River!
A highlight of the park is the Jaruga Hydroelectric Power Plant, located below Skradinski Buk, the park’s largest waterfall.
Built in 1895, it is the second oldest hydroelectric plant in the world and the first in Europe, constructed just three days after the plant at Niagara Falls.
Local Food and Wine
After exploring the park, indulge in the flavors of Dalmatia at a nearby family restaurant.
Known for serving some of the best spit-roasted pork in the region, the restaurant also offers fresh, homemade vegetable dishes for those who prefer a meat-free option.
Pair your meal with a glass of local wine for an authentic Dalmatian dining experience.
